How is this different from kibble or canned food?

Unlike kibble and most canned foods, our recipes are made using whole meat, fresh veggies, and purposeful ingredients. It’s gently cooked and never shelf-stabilized. There are no fillers, artificial preservatives, highly processed “meals” or mystery “meats”. Your dog gets the pure, simple, real food that actually looks and smells like food.

We’ll send you a simple transition guide. Start by mixing small amounts of our fresh meals with your dog’s current food and increase gradually over several days. This gentle transition helps your dog’s digestion adjust smoothly.

Can I mix Woof & Cook food with kibble or my own meals?

Yes you can! Many pet parents mix our food with kibble or other foods for variety. Just remember to adjust portions to meet your dog’s daily calorie needs.

Can I heat or freeze meals?

Our food is cooked fresh, then delivered cold. You can refrigerate or freeze the meals. If your dog prefers, our food can be gently warmed, don’t overheat the food so the nutrients are preserved.

What if my dog is picky or has food sensitivities?

What does human-grade food mean?

Every ingredient, as well as the kitchen, packing, storage, handling and shipping - must meet human food standards. The kitchen must be licensed and inspected as a human kitchen for safety and cleanliness. All of which means the food is fit for human consumption. 

Does one meal fulfill my dog’s entire daily nutritional requirement?

Yes! Each of our meals is carefully prepared to provide your dog with a complete day’s worth of balanced nutrition. If your dog prefers to eat multiple smaller meals throughout the day, you can easily divide the portion to suit their eating habits.

What does complete food mean? Do I need supplements?

“Complete food” means the product contains all the essential nutrients a dog needs for its specific life stage, in the right proportions, to support overall health and energy requirements. This is defined and regulated by organizations like AAFCO and the Bureau of Indian Standards, ensuring the food can be fed as a dog's sole diet without nutritional gaps. 

If your dog eats complete food meals provided by Woof & Cook, supplements are generally not needed unless recommended by your veterinarian for specific health reasons.

How many treats should I give?

Treats can be a fun way to reward and bond with your dog, but they should be given in moderation. Just like pet parents need to balance indulgences like chocolate with extra activity, dogs need to compensate for the extra calories from treats through additional exercise. With a complete meal from Woof & Cook, treats aren’t necessary for your dog’s health. If you do give treats, keeping them small, infrequent, and balanced with play or walks helps maintain your dog’s healthy weight and well-being while keeping treat time enjoyable and positive.
